Bio

I am a student at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga). I study finance, economics, business and marketing. As specialization I have chosen marketing due to the reason of having already experience in the field.

Being a student of economics and finance, I find important knowing design, branding and other visual concepts in nowadays environment. Even though on the outset design was my hobby, throughout years I developed my skills and became a freelance designer.

On the outset I was starting to work with photo manipulation and graphical design; however, about 4 years ago I understood that it is very crucial knowing the basics of web design and development due to the recent trends. So I went further and learned some of CMS and coding languages (HTML, CSS, PHP). Currently, I am able to work with:

• Graphical design;
• Web design;
• Motion graphics;
• Visual effects (VFX);
• Compositing – both video and photo;
• 3d modeling and texturing.

During last 3 years I worked for Stockholm School of Economics in Riga organizations: Days of Opportunities, Investment Fund, Peaktime, Baltic Economic Forum for Students.  I would like to mention main things done for these organizations:

• Created and customized websites;
• POSM;
• Branding;
• Brochure (magazine);
• Web banners;
• Mega posters.

The most recent works were done during my internship in Unilever Baltics, where I used my skills while cooperating with creating agencies and creating or adapting the works for before the execution.

As for the Drupal CMS, I am looking forward learning the platform due to positive feedback of my colleagues and worldwide users. It is a great deal to combine web and graphical design with the platform. Knowing PHP, HTML and CSS, will give me a better pace to introduce myself to the platform and get to the next level. For now, I have not tried to play with Drupal, because of not getting thorough understanding of why exactly Drupal stands out and is better than other CMS. Therefore, I am willing to participate in the conference to get the knowledge and start using Drupal.
